Description

The model used is a 175 mm Calcite from Jalgaon, India.

It is a new specimen in my collection, that I bought in 2021.

It is a fantastic clear Calcite, found in Jalgaon Quarries, Maharashtra, India. It is a big specimen, measuring 128x175x87 mm (1,3 kg).

It reminds a bit like the world-famous calcite from Kazakstan, with its inner clarity and light champagne color.

I am extremely happy to have this in my collection now, and is also pleased that you have the chance to buy the digital art version.

Jalgaon Quarries, Maharashtra, India
Jalgaon is located in Maharashtra in the western part of India, and in the mineral world they are known for their beautiful zeolites.

Jalgaon is known as the "Banana City of India" as the Jalgaon region accounts for about 2/3 of Maharashtra's banana production. Jalgaon is also known for its production of gold jewelry, and is colloquially referred to as the "gold city" of Maharashtra.
