Description

The model used is a fantastic specimen of white Mesolite spray formation inside a geode from Lonavala, Pune, Maharashtra, India

The size of the specimen is 81x90x95 mm (1046 grams).

It is a member of the zeolite group and is closely related to natrolite which it also resembles in appearance. Mesolite is named after the Greek term "Mesos", which means "middle", and "Lithos" - stone. It is named so because Mesolite is intermediary in a series between Natrolite and Scolecite.



Lonavala, Pune, Maharashtra, India
Pune is known from its many excellent Zeolites, and this Mesolite is from a part of Pune called Lonavala.
