Description
The model used is a nice 89 mm Herkimer Diamond in matrix from Herkimer County, New York, USA.
The size of the specimen is 53x89x76 mm (404 grams).
The crystal is transparent with fantastic quality, and this one also has a little rainbow inside.
It is called Herkimer Diamond, but it is really Quartz (not diamond).
The reason why it is called diamond is its similar look.
The Herkimer crystals are double-terminated and their short length compared to other quartz, makes the Herkimer almost cubic which again makes it more similar to diamonds. The second reason is the way it is embedded in the grey matrix.
Incredibly, these phenomenal crystals are close to five hundred million years old.
If you want to go out buy yourself a physical Herkimer Diamond, these ones are pretty reasonably priced. Be aware that the model used for the NFT is not very valuable, but rather very nice to look at.

Fun fact:
Do you remember the movie called Congo from 1995? Lol, probably not, only me that is getting old. Anyway, at the end of the movie, they are in a giant diamond mine, and the diamonds they used was Herkimer Diamonds. The guy holding the stone was named Herkermer Homolka. I guess I was the only one at the movie theater who was smiling at this hidden information.
