Description

The model used is a gigantic v-shaped green Spodumene from Kunar Province, Afghanistan.
The size is 175x75x,92 mm (2597 gr.)

It has perfect faces and a perfect V-shaped top. It is gemmy inside and has an enormous size, and very VERY impressive in person. I bought it back in 2007, and I have never seen anyone of this size being sold ever. On Mindat, I see only one that is bigger.

Green Spodumene (not actual Hiddenite)
Many of the Spodumene crystals from Afghanistan are sold as Hiddenite. That is not correct, as most of the green ones are treated in labs to get their green colors (as this one). So the correct label would be treated Spodumene (not Hiddenite). Despite that it is Chromium-treated, it is still an impressive gem crystal of a hard-to-find color from what is probably the most well-known locality in the world for Spodumene crystals.

Fun fact:
For crypto lovers, I would say this is the closest you get to Kryptonite. Kryptonite was the only thing Superman was afraid of, as it weakened his powers. There is no real mineral called Kryptonite in the real world, but it was a fictional crystal from the planet Krypton where Superman was born.

I have also based my page on this name, as I play on the crypto name, and this is the specimen that I sometimes use in my logo.
